I took both full view and close-up pictures of her work because even though they are interesting as a whole, the detail is what really draws you in. The first 2 pictures are line drawings and the second 2 are pictures of soup in which she mixed the colors using different ingredients and then photographed the soup and cut the photos out and layered them to make abstract shapes. Indications of a Presence Previous to the Now
Andrea Hidalgo’s work. It was an interesting show because it engaged all the senses including touch and smell (not something that comes across in pictures, obviously). All her pieces tied to her life personally and created a sort of three-dimensional picture plane.
